Step by Step Guide: Composition Inventory

What is a composition inventory?

A composition inventory helps track ingredient usage across menu items. If multiple items share the same ingredients, it monitors ingredient quantities and updates as items are sold.

Before creating your composition inventory, make sure you have:

  1. Labeled Menu items as a "Composition Item" as needed


  2. Added your inventory items 
  3. Created groups for your composition inventory

Build your Composition Inventory

Composition > Add Composition

Step 1: Select an Item from your Menu

  • Select a category and your menu item

Step 2: Select your Composition Group

Step 3: Add Inventory Items

  • Select all the ingredients needed to create your menu item
